This Season's Heaviest Rain in Yamunanagar

Yamunanagar :- Continuous changes are being seen in the weather in Haryana. In some districts of the state, the heat has made people miserable. While heavy rain was seen in all the blocks of Yamunanagar district. Due to heavy rains, the situation of water-logging has even arisen in some areas of the district. It started raining in all the blocks of Yamunanagar between 12:00 pm and 1:00 am and continued till 9:00 am.

Average 78mm rain recorded in 7 hours

If seen in this way, an average of 78 mm of rain was recorded in the district in 7 hours. While Jagadhri block recorded the highest rainfall of 215 mm in the district. This season's record breaking rains have been in Jagadhri section. Due to excessive rains, there was water-logging in rural and urban areas adjoining Jagadhri district. At the same time, water rose up to 2 to 2.5 feet in the lower and residential areas of the block.

traffic was disrupted

Due to waterlogging on the roads, traffic movement was greatly affected. About 2 feet of rain water accumulated on NH-73(A) at Jagadhri Bus Stand, Matka Chowk and on old National Highway 73 from Maharana Pratap Chowk to Kanhaiya Sahib Chowk. Similarly, about 1 to 1.5 feet of water was filled in Yamuna Nagar on Workshop Road, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Vivekananda School, Shanti Colony and behind the Community Center in Sector-17 and in the markets. Due to waterlogging, water entered the houses of many people, along with it, sewerage water also overflowed and started flowing.

Rainfall recorded in different sections

To deal with the situation of waterlogging, the team of the Municipal Corporation and the people themselves were also engaged in draining the water. 215 mm of rain was recorded in Jagadhri block of the district, 81 mm in Chhachhrauli, 85 mm in Saraswati Nagar, 56 mm in Pratap Nagar, 30 mm in Sadhora and 51 mm in Bilaspur. The highest rainfall of this season was recorded in Jagadhri at 215 mm.
