Chandigarh: Haryana is facing severe heatwave conditions this May, with temperatures touching 45°C in several districts. The extreme heat has made daily commute difficult for school children.As per Education Department sources, the Haryana government is likely to announce early summer vacations for all schools. 

If approved, government and private schools may remain closed from May 25 to June 30, 2026. The final decision is expected following directions from Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.Usually, summer vacations begin in the first week of June. However, due to continuous heatwave alerts from IMD, the government is considering advancing the schedule by a week to ensure student safety.Health Advisory Issued
