Weather In Delhi: After 8 days, the people of Delhi got relief from the biting cold due to sunshine on Sunday. The maximum temperature was recorded normal. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of drizzle on Tuesday due to western disturbance. This may increase the cold further. Changes were seen in the capital since morning. The layer of fog formed in the upper level of the atmosphere was cleared to a great extent. The maximum temperature recorded at Safdarjung weather station was 18.8 degrees, which is the normal temperature for this season. At the same time, the minimum temperature was 8.2 degrees which is one degree more than normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, Jafarpur and Mayur Vihar areas of Delhi remained the coldest. The maximum temperature was recorded at 15.3 degrees in Zafarpur and 15.9 degrees in Mayur Vihar. According to the Meteorological Department, among these eight days, there was a severe cold day on January 4 and a cold day on January 5.

Which train will be canceled

Due to fog in the capital, rail traffic has been continuously affected for the last one month. But due to better management of Railways, there is a reduction in the cases of cancellation of trains. In December 2022, where 60 trains had to be canceled on the day of travel due to fog. At the same time, due to fog in December 2023, only 15 trains have been canceled on the day of travel. The positive results of the preparations made by the railway authorities have been seen this time in the fog season. Data received from Northern Railway shows that there has been a 75 percent reduction in trains being canceled on the day of journey in December 2023 as compared to December 2022.

What decision did the schools take?

In view of the severe cold in Delhi, schools will remain closed for students from nursery to class five. Students will study through online classes, while students from classes 6th to 12th will have to come to school from Monday. In this regard, Education Director of the Directorate of Education Bhupesh Chaudhary has issued an order on Sunday.

When will classes start?

According to the order, in view of the weather conditions, classes up to class five in government schools, government-aided schools and private schools will not be held in physical mode for the next five days i.e. from January 8 to 12. As far as possible, schools can organize online classes for primary class students. There will be a holiday on 13th January due to second Saturday and 14th January due to Sunday. After that, primary class students will also have to come to school from January 15. At the same time, schools will open for students from class 6th to 12th from Monday. However, in view of the weather conditions, no school will be able to hold classes before 8 am and after 5 pm.

North India including UP, Haryana

The oppression of winter continues in North India. Visibility remained low due to dense fog in other states including Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Western Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of getting relief from the cold in the coming three days.
