Exclusive: Aqua Line Metro Will Be Connected To Sector-61 Metro Station, Not From 51-52, NMRC Gave Reason
Metro Rail: The alignment of the Aqua Line metro extension plan of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) from Noida to Greater Noida West Knowledge Park-5 is being changed. Till now there was a plan to connect Aqua Line Metro to Blue Line Metro station in Sector-52, now it has been changed.
The Aqua Line Metro going towards Greater Noida West will connect with the Sector-61 Metro Station of the Blue Line Metro. Due to the change in alignment, changes are now being made in the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the scheme.
Till now, according to the project made for the expansion of Aqua Line, there was a preparation to connect the Aqua Line Metro going towards Greater Noida West with the Sector-52 Metro Station of Blue Line Metro. For this, the Aqua Line Metro is currently being operated. It was to be taken beyond Sector-51 towards Greater Noida West.
What benefit will people get from this?
The distance between Aqua Line Sector-51 station and Blue Line Sector-52 metro station is 430 meters. In such a situation, there was a plan to build a foot overbridge between the two stations for the convenience of the passengers, but people would face great inconvenience in covering such a long distance on foot.
In such a situation, instead of a foot overbridge, a travelator should be built here. As Travelator was built between Dhaula Kuan station of Airport Express Line and Durga Bai Deshmukh station of Pink Line Metro. This option was fine for some time, but in the long run and was not effective in completely eliminating the connectivity problem of both the metro stations.

A similar problem exists between Aqua Line and Blue Line metro in Noida. Even after making Travelator, the problems of passengers will not end. In such a situation, for a permanent solution, a revised DPR is being prepared by changing the alignment for the proposed metro project up to Greater Noida West Knowledge Park-5.
Which will get approval soon. After the revised DPR and changed alignment, now the Aqua Line Metro going to Greater Noida West will connect to the Sector-61 Metro Station of the Blue Line. Due to this, pedestrians will have to travel less distance and the load of passengers will not increase much at the junction to be built on the Blue Line and Metro Line.
