Indian Railway: As you know. The holy festival of Diwali was celebrated across the country on 12 November 2023. After Diwali, some festivals like Bhai Dooj, Govardhan Puja and Chhath Puja are to be celebrated between 13 and 18 November. Due to the festive season, there is a lot of crowd at railway stations. Keeping in mind the increasing crowd at the station, the Railway Department has stopped the sale of platform tickets at railway stations.

For information, let us tell you that Northern Railway has taken this decision to control the congestion at railway stations due to Diwali and Chhath Puja. According to Northern Railway, the sale of platform tickets has been stopped at New Delhi and Anand Vihar railway stations from November 13 to November 18. To control overcrowding, the sale of platform tickets has been temporarily stopped.

Many unpleasant incidents have come to light

Many unpleasant incidents have happened so far due to crowding at railway stations due to the festive season. Recently, an incident of stampede has come to light at Surat Railway Station. Due to the stampede, one person became unconscious and later died. Apart from this, many people have been injured due to the stampede at Chhapra Railway Station. To control such situations, the government has banned ticket sales.

Only these people will get exemption

According to the information given by the Railway Department, due to the festive season, there is a lot of crowd at the railway stations. Due to which Railways has decided not to sell platform tickets from 13th November to 18th November. Only citizens, women passengers and illiterate people will be given relaxation at the stations. Apart from this, passengers who are elderly or handicapped. That is, those who are not able to protect themselves have also been given exemption by the Railways.
