MD Weather Update : Heavy Rain & Snowfall, Hailstorm in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand For 2 Days, Weather Will Worsen in Other States
IMD Weather Update Today 1 March 2024 : The western disturbance which became active since night has started showing its effect. The weather of the country has changed, thunderstorms, heavy rains and snowfall are visible in different parts of the country. From hilly areas to plain areas are also affected by this. India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its new weather bulletin said that from March 1 to March 3, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall and rain in the western Himalayan region and the plains of northwest India.
Alternate snowfall and rain in hilly states till March 3
IMD said that due to the latest western disturbance, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh till tomorrow i.e. on both 2nd and 3rd March. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert here. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand till March 2.
Rain in these parts of the country
The IMD said that a Western Disturbance in the form of a cyclonic circulation is located at lower to upper tropospheric levels over northeastern Iran and surrounding region. Under its influence, there will be rain with thunder and lightning in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi till March 2.

The weather of these north-eastern states will be like this
Due to the trough or confluence of winds over central parts, isolated light to moderate rainfall is likely over Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh till March 5. Apart from this, northeastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will receive rain during the next few days.
Hailstorm in hilly areas
IMD has also predicted hailstorm at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till March 2. It has also been said that hailstorm may also occur in some parts of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
Heavy dust storm here at a speed of 50 km
According to the Regional Weather Forecasting Center Delhi, there may be light rain and thundershowers with strong winds at a speed of 25 to 35 km per hour in the national capital Delhi tonight. The Meteorological Department has predicted strong winds with a speed of 50 kilometers per hour in Rajasthan, heavy dust storm with a speed of 50 kilometers per hour in Punjab and Haryana, rain and hailstorm.
