New pedestrian bridge at Central Railway Station, great convenience for passengers, will connect all platforms with skywalk

 

Mumbai: Special facilities have been made for the convenience of passengers at Bhandup station. A pedestrian bridge has been started at the station. To prevent crossing the railway tracks, a 6-meter wide pedestrian bridge has been opened for passengers at Bhandup station. This bridge has been built by Mumbai Railway Development Corporation under the MUTP project. This bridge has been connected to all platforms along with the east and west directions. This will make it possible to easily and easily handle the flow of passengers during rush hour. Moreover, the option of a bridge has been made available to passengers crossing the tracks.

More convenient for passengers
The new pedestrian bridge will be connected to the 9.5-meter wide deck on platform number 1. The bridge will also be connected to the proposed 5-meter wide skywalk to the east of the station. Work to provide connections at both places is currently underway. It will be possible to reach all pedestrian bridges and the bridge in the Kalyan direction of the Municipal Corporation from the station deck.

Connection - Platform number 1, 2, 3, 4 and eastern part
Steps - Two and a half to three meters wide steps on each platform

Travel is safer
After the new pedestrian bridge gets the connection of deck pedestrian bridge and skywalk, the movement of passengers will be handled in a faster and easier manner. Direction signs and local indicators will be installed on the bridge. This will reduce the crowd on the platform, said Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer of Mumbai Railway Development Corporation.

Meanwhile, Metro-3, which was launched last month in Mumbai, is receiving a huge response from passengers. After the launch of the last phase of the underground metro from Cuffe Parade to CSMT, the passenger count has increased from 66 thousand to 1.44 lakh. It has not even been a month since the metro started, but the number of passengers is increasing continuously.
