Orbital Rail: 126 Km Long Railway Line Will Be Laid Under Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor

 

Rail Corridor: Continuous efforts are being made to reduce the traffic pressure in Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas in Chandigarh. Which includes expressway, metro, railway and highway. Haryana is also working on developing rail infrastructure. A plan has been made to build Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor in this part. After the construction of the corridor, the image of many cities like IMT Manesar will change and they will also have better connectivity. An orbital rail corridor will be built from Palwal to Manesar.

Its development is being planned by Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HRIDC). According to a report in Financial Express, there will be a session of Haryana Orbital Rail Corporation Limited (HORC) project from Dhulavat to Badshah. This electric double track railway line will pass through the districts of Nuh to Gurugram and will be 29.5 km long. There will be stations between Sonipat-Turkpur on the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor. Stations will also be built at Kharkhoda, Jasaur Khedi, Mandauthi, Badli, Devarkhana, Badhsa, New Patli, Pachgaon, IMT Manesar, Chandla Dungarwas, Dhulavat, Sohna, Silani and New Palwal.

Features of Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor

According to the report, the Haryana Rail Orbital Corridor will have the capacity to transport five crore tonnes of goods per day by goods trains. Trains can run at a speed of 160 km per hour on this railway track. Two tunnels will be built in the corridor. The tunnels will be made in such a way that two stack containers can be easily juggled. Both the tunnels will be 4.7 km long, 11 meters high and 10 meters wide.

Five districts will get direct benefit

Rail Orbital Corridor will be built along KMP Expressway. The length of the project will be 126 km, from Palwal Railway Station to Harsana Kalan Railway Station in Sonipat. Five districts (Palwal, Gurugram, Nuh, Jhajjar and Sonipat) will directly benefit from this project.
