Maharashtra: In view of the increasing population of Mumbai, the Maharashtra government has taken a big decision to provide better housing, infrastructure and transport facilities to the people. As a result, a new city called 'Third Mumbai' will be created. This new city will be built near Navi Mumbai International Airport. The Mumbai Trans Harbor Link will connect it to the main city. Sources said that the state government has said yes to this proposal last week.
All necessary basic facilities will be available in 'Third Mumbai
Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will get the job of replacing the last mile of MMR. For this, a new body, New Town Development Authority (NTDA) has been created. NTDA will have 323 square km area in Ulwe, Pen, Panvel, Uran, Karjat and surrounding areas. Of the approximately 200 villages likely to be part of NTDA, 80 to 90 villages will be included which fall under Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NANA). A government official said that we are calling it the third Mumbai. Because it will have all the necessary facilities that a well-developed city needs. He said that it will have knowledge parks, multinational companies, residential and commercial campuses. Besides, strong public transport will also be created.
