UP Roads Will Get international Look With Rs 500 Crore, Yogi Cabinet Approves CM Grids Scheme

 

YuvaPatrkaar : Yogi government has taken an innovative initiative to reduce the burden of extra vehicles on the roads due to increasing urbanization in UP and to maintain ease of transportation. The Yogi Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Chief Minister Green Road Infrastructure Development Scheme (Urban) i.e. 'CM Grids Scheme' worth Rs 500 crore to make the roads of all the cities of the state of international standard. With this, all the roads in the cities will be made safe, sustainable and inclusive and these roads will be green and environment friendly.

In the first phase of this ambitious scheme, road construction work will be done in 17 municipal corporations and all the roads between 10-45 meters will be developed as state-of-the-art roads. In the second phase, roads of 200 municipalities and 545 nagar panchayats will be covered.

Eurida will monitor road development, financing and works

In the meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday, 19 out of 21 proposals were approved. Out of this, 03 proposals of the Urban Development Department have also been approved. The most prominent proposal in this is the Chief Minister Green Road Infrastructure Development Scheme (Urban) i.e. CM Grid Scheme. Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma gave information in this regard in the media center of Lok Bhawan after the meeting of the Council of Ministers. He informed that to make the roads of all the cities of the state of international standard, Chief Minister Green Road Infrastructure Development Scheme (Urban) worth Rs 500 crore, 'CM Grids Scheme' has been approved.

He informed that the state government will establish Urban Road Infrastructure Development Agency (URIDA) to develop, finance and monitor the works of civic bodies. A committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to monitor the work of EURIDA and its work will also be monitored through an online portal. Under this scheme, any body will get a maximum grant of Rs 100 crore every year. The body will bear the expenditure of 10 percent from its own funds. With the introduction of this scheme, urban roads will remain safe, air quality and people's health will improve.

Vandan scheme also got approval

The Urban Development Minister said that 'Vandan Yojana' has been approved by the Cabinet for the development and beautification of infrastructure facilities at the sites of cultural, mythological, religious and historical importance located in the urban areas of the state and under this scheme, Rs 50 crore has been sanctioned. Provision has also been made. The Chief Minister and Finance Minister have assured to increase more funds in this. A committee headed by the District Magistrate will select such sites. Under this scheme, works like approach roads, resting places, sheds, drinking water arrangements, lighting, painting, interlocking, circumambulation paths, construction of ghats etc. at such places will be done in coordination with the Tourism Department.

Medical officers will retire at the age of 65 instead of 62

Yogi Cabinet has also approved the proposal to increase the retirement age of level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4 medical officers working under the provincial medical and health services cadre from 62 to 65 years. But this decision will not apply to senior medical officers posted at the administrative level. Parliamentary Affairs and Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that senior medical officers at the administrative level will retire at the age of 62. For example, District Leprosy Officer, District Tuberculosis Officer, Principal Training Centre, Director General etc. will retire at the age of 62 years.

Committee will investigate major accidents

Yogi government will now get major road accidents investigated by a committee. Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that cabinet approval has been received for this also. Accidents in which 3 or more people die will be investigated by a special committee. This committee will have members from Transport Department, Police, Health Department and PWD Department.

Road safety social workers will also participate. This will help in getting the claim. This committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. A committee will also be formed at the state level under the chairmanship of the Transport Commissioner. Apart from this, he said that the proposal to build bus stands on the lines of modern airports was also approved. In the first phase, 5 bus stands including Lucknow will come under this project. The Chief Minister can lay the foundation stone of 5 bus stands including Lucknow (Vibhuti Khand Gomtinagar), Agra (Fort), Prayagraj (Civil Lines), Ghaziabad (Kaushambi). Apart from this, 18 more bus stands have also been approved. Tenders for which will be issued soon.
