The Basic Education Council has ordered to keep all private schools of UP closed till January 20. At the same time, Ram temple will be consecrated in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on 21 January (Sunday) and 22 January (Sunday). Due to which all schools in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed. Even on January 22, the Yogi government has given strict orders to close liquor and meat shops.
Now schools will open directly on 23 January. Apart from this, changes have been made in the time table of classes nine to twelve in many districts including Gorakhpur. Now classes 9 to 12 will remain open from 10 am to 3 pm.

Holidays extended till class 8th
This is stated in the letter sent by the Basic Education Council to all the BSAs of the state. That due to the cold wave, there will be holiday for classes up to 8th in schools till 17th January. But due to the continuously increasing cold, these holidays are being extended till January 20. There will be no courses at this time. If schools continue to function even after this, strict action will be taken against teachers and school management.

There will be relief from cold on this day
There is no relief yet from the cold wave that has been going on across the state for the last several days. The wind will also change from January 20. This time the wind direction will be westerly instead of easterly. Meteorological Department says. That this will further reduce the temperature. The cold will still increase. The night temperature will further drop due to westerly winds, said Atul Kumar Singh, scientist at the Zonal Meteorological Centre.
He said that the sequence of severe cold days that has been going on for the last one week will also continue. There will be fog during the day and there will be no sunlight. In eastern Uttar Pradesh, the Meteorological Department said that at some places there was moderate and at other places dense fog. The day temperature dropped significantly in Bareilly division. The temperature during the day was much lower than normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad, Agra and Jhansi. Meerut was below average in the state. The lowest night temperature in the state on Wednesday night was five degrees Celsius, which was in Muzaffarnagar and Fatehgarh.

On Thursday, cold wave shivered people in Kheri district of Terai. A day earlier, the mercury had dropped to five degrees due to lack of sunlight throughout the day, but fog and cold wave continued till 11 am on Thursday. When the sun came out, the temperature also increased a bit. The lowest mercury during the day was eight degrees Celsius and the highest was 11 degrees Celsius. The cold subsided a bit due to sunshine during the day, but in the evening the blanket of fog increased again. Cold winds blew.
There was dense fog even on Thursday morning. As the day progressed, the fog reduced. Around 11 o'clock the sun's rays piercing the fog gave people some relief from the cold. People liked the lukewarm afternoon sunshine. But the icy winds from the mountains were troubling. There was relief from sunshine in the afternoon on Thursday, whereas the day before there was no sunshine the whole day.
