Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Anil Vij stated that the ring road currently under construction in Ambala will not only relieve the city of traffic congestion but also prove to be a boon for the lakhs of motorists passing through daily. This project will mark a milestone in Ambala's infrastructure history, paving the way for its transformation into a metropolitan city.

On Friday afternoon, Mr. Vij inspected the ring road project site and reviewed the progress of the construction work. He stated that the goal is to complete the construction as soon as possible and dedicate it to the public. It is noteworthy that the Ambala ring road project was initiated through the tireless efforts of Transport Minister Anil Vij. The construction of this ring road—which encircles the Ambala district like a garland—is in its final stages, with plans to complete and open it to the public very soon. BJP leaders Sanjeev Soni 'Babbu', Ajay Baweja, Shailendra Khanna, and others were present on the occasion.

*40-Kilometre-Long Ring Road*

This 40-kilometre-long, six-lane ring road is being constructed at a cost of approximately ₹691 crore. For this ambitious project, 657 acres of land across 30 villages—comprising 27 villages from Haryana and three from Punjab—have been acquired. Additionally, the Haryana Urban Development Authority is developing sectors along the ring road, creating a strong possibility that the city's urban limits will extend up to the ring road in the future.

*90 Percent of Ring Road Work Completed*

The ring road project will prove to be a boon for motorists traveling to and from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh via Ambala. It will allow drivers to proceed without entering Ambala's congested inner areas. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has completed approximately 90 percent of the project work. Thanks to the ring road, motorists arriving from any state will not need to navigate through the city's traffic. This Ring Road will interconnect five major national highways in the region. Vehicles arriving from the directions of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, Saharanpur, and Paonta Sahib will now be able to proceed directly towards Punjab, Chandigarh, and Kaithal-Hisar without entering the city's congested areas. Similarly, travelers coming from regions like Punjab, Chandigarh, or Himachal Pradesh and heading towards Delhi, Yamunanagar, Saharanpur, Paonta Sahib, or other areas will have the convenience of reaching their destinations directly via the Ring Road, bypassing the city center.

The Ambala Ring Road also connects to the Ambala-Shamli-Delhi Expressway and the Ambala-Kala Amb Expressway, facilitating smoother travel for motorists.

Bridges: 2 major and 2 minor bridges to be constructed over the Tangri River

Bridges and Culverts: 3 major bridges, 4 minor bridges, and 82 culverts for water drainage to ensure smooth travel
