Youth dies after being struck by lightning while attempting to steal in Barmani factory
A youth died after being electrocuted while attempting to steal from a factory in Barmer. The incident took place on Monday evening. The youth came into contact with the transformer wires while trying to enter through the factory wall. He died on the spot.
According to the police, the youth had cut the wire fence of the factory. While trying to jump over the wall, he came into contact with the live wires near the transformer. A plastic bag was found with him, which contained copper wires. Based on this, the police suspect that he may have come with the intention of stealing.
The factory workers rushed to the spot after hearing a loud noise. They immediately informed the factory owner. After this, teams from Kotwali Police Station, FSL and MOB reached the spot and started an investigation.
The body has been sent to the morgue of the district hospital. The police have started efforts to identify the youth. SI Lachharam said, "As copper wires were found in the bag, it is clear that he was trying to steal materials from the factory." DSP Ramesh Kumar Sharma also inspected the scene. The police have registered a case in this regard and are waiting for the youth's family to identify him.
