Pakistan Vs Netherlands : Pakistan Started The World Cup Journey With Victory, Defeated Netherlands By 81 Runs

 

ICC World Cup 2023 PAK vs NED : In the second match of the ODI World Cup, Pakistan defeated Netherlands by 81 runs. This match between the two teams was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pakistan team was reduced to 286 runs in 49 overs. In reply, Netherlands team was all out for 205 runs in 41 overs. Saud Shakeel, who scored a half-century for Pakistan, was chosen as the player of the match.

For Netherlands, only five batsmen could touch double figures. Bas de Leede scored the highest score of 67 runs. He hit six fours and two sixes in his 68-ball innings. Opener Vikramjit Singh scored 52 runs on 67 balls. Logan Van Beek remained unbeaten after scoring 28 runs off 28 balls. Colin Ackerman scored 17 runs and Saqib Zulfikar scored 10 runs. Haris Rauf took maximum three wickets for Pakistan. Hasan Ali got two successes. Shaheen Afridi, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz took one wicket each.

Half century of Shakeel and Rizwan

Earlier, Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel scored 68-68 runs for Pakistan. Mohammad Nawaz contributed 39 runs and Shadab Khan contributed 32 runs. Haris Rauf scored 16, Imam Ul Haq scored 15, Shaheen Afridi scored 13 not out and Fakhar Zaman scored 12 runs. Iftikhar Ahmed could score only nine runs and Babar Azam could score only five runs. Hasan Ali could not even open an account. Bas de Leede took the maximum of four wickets for Netherlands. Colin Ackerman had two successes. Aryan Dutt, Logan Van Beek and Paul Van Meekeren took one wicket each.
