A hatchback with a 360-degree camera under ₹10 lakh | Petrol, CNG, and EV options available

A hatchback that comes with a 360° camera, large touch screen, wireless charger, 65 W Type C charging port, CNG as well as automatic gearbox and boot space is also not compromised. Rear AC vents and much more for just under 10 lakhs. And it is available in petrol, CNG as well as EV.

The Tata Tiago has always been a sorted hatchback for the City. And with this update things just got better. And what has become better? Let's find out. Talking about the overall design, a modern and fresh approach has been taken here. The colors of this car pop so much in the city and it looks very cute. Specifically, if we talk about the front bumper, it is redesigned.

And this 360° camera that you are seeing is not offered by anyone in the segment. How does it work? How is the quality? I will tell you later. So stay tuned for that. However, from the side this car has become a little longer than before. And if you look closely, you get 15-inch alloy wheels here.

Let me know what your design is like in the comments. And here, the cladding that you see, you will see small spotted patterns on the black color because it is made from recycled material. To contrast with this colour, the ORVMs are given in a piano black finish with integrated indicators. There is also a camera here which works as a blind spot monitor.

Again, no one gives this in the segment. The door handles are also new. You can see chrome inserts here. And for the driver side you get a request sensor. Not available for codriver. Shark fin antenna has also been introduced in the car. Even when you look at the car from the rear, it looks modern and fresh.

Specifically, this element looks like connected tail lamps. But these are connected tail lamps. This middle part, this is just for the aesthetics. this is not real. Here you also get a rear wiper washer along with the defogger. And lower down the bumper, you can also see black cladding on which you can find two parking sensors at the rear.

And now let's talk about the boot. Talking about the boot space, here we have kept two small size suitcases at the bottom. Two backpacks are placed on top of it. Still some space is left. This means that you can carry whatever luggage you need for your short weekend trips here. So you get enough space. Now, if I talk specifically about the colour of this car, then this is called the Varanasi Vibrance and Tata has introduced many such popping colours with it.

But in a country like India, where you park your car in the open, dust accumulates in it within a short time. And I do n't enjoy that color. Right? And it is not practical to always wash it. Motor Octane has a simple solution for this. Motor's Wax Pro Car Duster. It will basically make your car shine in no time and its soft wax coated bristles will not let your car get scratched and this duster will easily last you for one to two years and there is no need to wash it, even if it gets dirty, there is no

problem, it will always keep your car clean. It is available on both Amazon and Flipkart, so check it out. As soon as you come inside, once you look at the dashboard, you will not feel that this is the ₹10 lakh car, it feels a bit expensive, dual tone treatment has been given here, textured plastic and fabric, even though this plastic is hard.

Talking about the steering wheel, you might remember that earlier it used to have piano black finish and illuminated logo. He is completely gone now. It was also very difficult to maintain it. Scratches would appear easily and fingerprints would get left behind. You will not face that problem here. If we talk about the instrument cluster, it is new. This is the entire unit.

You get the TFT display in the center. On the left and right you get RPM and fuel meter. And this is very easy for you to know and read out things that are there on the cluster. And here you get a floating infotainment screen in the center. And trust me this is very fluid to use. And the UI is also quite easy to understand.

So good job there. Just below the AC vents you get this panel of buttons. Here you get the option to turn on or off hazard light, fog lamp and unlock the lock. And the button for 360° camera is also given here. Just below that, you can see the controls for automatic climate control. Tiago's badging is here.

And this panel is a blend of piano black and matte finish. At the bottom, you will find two smartphone decks. This one on the right side, towards the driver, also works for wireless charging. Wireless charger is not available on the left side. However, here you also get a Type C USB and a 65 W Type C fast charging port.

The manual gear lever looks something like this. Taken inspiration from the CR and paid here, it feels good to hold and the shifting is also quite smooth. There are two cup holders in the centre and a traditional hand brake. This armrest does not slide. However, inside you get storage along with a 12 volt charging pot.

Now, coming to the seats. Here you get dual tone finish. These are fabric seats and offer good support, better than before. Underthigh support is also offering this. There is no shortage of space in the second room also. I have a very nice room near me here. Underthigh support is also good enough.

End headroom is also adequate. My height is 58 for your reference. However, if we talk about space here, if you want to seat three people horizontally, then the third person sitting in the centre will not be comfortable. Because there's a bump here. And here you get rear AC vents which is first in the segment. Just below that, you also get a 65 W Type C charging port.

Here you also get ISOFIX child seat mount. All seat belts are three-pointers. However, none of the headrests are adjustable on this vehicle. If we talk about steering wheel adjustment, here you have tilt adjustment. Telescopic adjustment is not available. The driver's seat is also height adjustable.

Talking about the glove box, it is not the most spacious but Tata used to provide a separate folder for files earlier. He is missing here. However, it is also glove box cooled. If you look at the door panel, again this won't feel like a ₹1 lakh car. It feels more premium. Here you are given soft touch elements. Fabric finish is also given on the door panels.

However, the fit and finish that I was talking about still feels like it could have been better. So now we will drive the car and tell you how is the performance? How is the right quality? But for that we have chosen this car. This is the CNG variant. And the color that you see this is called the Pagong Puls.

And the reason for changing the vehicle was that we can give you real time feedback on petrol and CNG as to whether there is any difference or not. So let's get started. So let's start the car and put the hand brake down, shifting to drive and here we go. As you noticed, this vehicle is directly activated in CNG mode.

The car has not used even a bit of my petrol. And which is a good thing right? And if I want to shift to petrol, all I need to do is click this button. And will instantly shift to petrol. No sound, no lag, nothing. It happens instantly. And this is pretty quick. Now if we talk about the performance of petrol, there is no major change here.

Here exactly 85 BAP and 113 Nm of talk. Whatever was available before, is still available. Now if we talk about gear shift, it takes its own sweet time to shift. Which is because this is an AMT and not a proper automatic like a torque converter DCT and a CVT. As you know, AMT is provided here with CNG.

Usually what happens is that if you install after market CNG, your warranty gets void. You have no tension to fear here. Because here, along with factory fitted CNG, you also get the comfort of AMT gearbox. Which is a very good thing. Here you also feel head knot with every shift. If you are shifting by accelerating aggressively.

But if you are driving comfortably then headknots are reduced to a great extent. Now if you do very harsh acceleration it will go all the way to the red line and only then will it shift. That's why Tata has given you a solution for this here too, which are called the paddle shifters. Yes, you get paddle shifters here.

And if you are at low speed and you try to upshift, it will not upshift. If we talk about ride quality, then here you can feel even small potholes. The ride is a bit on the stiffer side. However, the damping is quite good, so that aggressive jolt is not there here. Which is a good thing. And again, the seats are on the softer side, so the after bounce is felt here.

And when it comes to handling, this is not a car you would want to push or corner. However, its steering feedback is pretty good. And I was really impressed with its steering feedback. There is no lag, there is no problem anywhere. The car is turning instantly. And this is a good thing about Tata. We had also driven the petrol only variant before.

And here there is no difference at all in terms of suspension and ride quality. So now it's time to shift to CNG. All right. So to be honest, I have not felt any such difference in power. On paper yes CNG produces less BHP. If we talk about gearing, it is not too light, not too heavy. It is absolutely perfect.

That's why the feedback is also quite good. You are also less likely to oversteer. Because it is not light at all. Now as you can see I am going to take a U turn here. The blind spot monitor is also enabled. And here we are taking a U-turn and checking this out. It came to the centre automatically and accurately. I don't see any alignment issues or any issues here.

Which is a very good thing. Hats off to this steering wheel. Great job. Along with this, Tata has launched the new Tiago. has also been updated. Almost everything is similar here. But there are minor differences. I will tell you what it is. 14-inch aerodynamic wheels are available. But these are not alloys.

This is called stylized steel. Now, if we talk about the boot space, it is more than the CNG variant but slightly less than the petrol variant considering the battery inside. But here spare tyre is not available in any vehicle. Instead you get a puncture repair kit. This panel here has hazard lights and a 360° camera which is also available in the Tiago.

What's new here is the option to unlock the charger lock and adjust the region levels. Now let's talk about the features and differences. Now it's time to drive this thing. Let's put it on drive and here we go. You know this is the best part about EVs. This car worth Rs 10 lakh is giving you such good performance at such a low price.

I mean just look at this. Touch the accelerator and you are just going ahead. Now if we talk about battery packs, then here you are offered two battery packs. A 19.2 kWh battery pack that produces 63 bhp and 110 Nm of torque and a larger 24 kWh battery pack that produces 73 bhp and 114 Nm of torque.

Around 160 to 170 km from a small battery pack. You should get a range of . And with a larger battery pack, you should get a range of around 200 to 250 km. This is what we are expecting. If we talk about acceleration, it is linear compared to the old Tiago EV. But it doesn't feel like there has been a power drop anywhere.

The pickup actually feels smoother in this variant. Here you get three levels of regenerative braking. Here its buttons are given below the AC vents so that you can control them. Whether it is highway running or bumper to bumper traffic, you can adjust your region level accordingly. Single pedal driving is something you can't expect at this price point.

Talking about ride quality , the suspension setup that used to come in the earlier Tiago EV has been continued in this one as well. Because even earlier there was no complaint regarding such suspension, this is true. And Tata decided to keep the same suspension setup and it's working well for them I guess.

Now we drove both the vehicles. But you will also think now which one is right for you? Tiago EV, petrol or CNG? Let me answer this right now. Now the question is, is the Tiago a good car? No. The actual question is which Tiago is right for you? And before I tell you that, I am leaving the prices of the top models of all the cars below.

So that you can consider according to your budget. Now if your running is very continuous. You travel 40 to 50 km. If you drive to office daily and charging facility is available at your home, then EV is a win-win situation for you. You should buy an EV. Now if your running is very high and mileage is also your priority then CNG will make more sense to you.

Because now you get the comfort of AMT along with factory fitted CNG without compromising on boot space. So it's a win-win situation. If your mileage is very low, you rarely take the car out, drive it weekend to weekend, maybe for market runs or picking up the kids from school , then petrol makes more sense for you.
