India, one of the world's largest car markets, has seen a huge demand for SUVs in recent years. While low-slung sedans were once popular, the trend has now shifted to upright SUVs.

There are various types of SUVs sold in India. Among them, the most popular are compact SUVs that are less than 4.3 meters long. Some new compact SUVs are set to be launched in India soon. We are going to see what they are in this collection.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid: A car launched by Maruti Suzuki a few years ago and is receiving a lot of attention. The Fronx was launched at the 2023 Auto Expo as the SUV version of the best-selling Baleno.

After that, with Maruti Suzuki starting sales of the Franks car from April 2023, the Franks car will soon be launched in a hybrid version. Franks will be the third Maruti Suzuki car to be launched in a hybrid version, following the Grand Vitara and Invicto. Road testing of the Franks hybrid car has already begun.

The 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine introduced in the Swift car in 2024 may also be fitted to the new Franks hybrid car. We expect a new hybrid system to be connected to this engine. It is said that the battery provided in this hybrid system will be provided in a way that it can be automatically charged by the generator.

2025 Hyundai Venue: The Venue is one of the most popular sub-compact SUVs in India, measuring less than 4 meters. Hyundai plans to launch the next-generation model of the car in India by the end of 2025.

We expect the new Venue to be designed based on Hyundai's international design language 'Sensuous Sportiness', similar to the new Hyundai Creta that was launched in early 2024. That is, the new Venue for India will be similar to the appearance of the Venue sold abroad.

Accordingly, we can expect the new Venue to have spherical LED headlights at the front, a parametric grille, newly designed alloy wheels and LED taillights connected to each other at the rear. Otherwise, the new Venue is likely to be offered with the same 3 engine options as the current one.

Tata Punch Facelift: The Punch was the best-selling car in India in 2024. Last year, the Tata Punch was the number one selling car in India for 3 consecutive months in March, April and May.

Although more than 2 lakh units were sold in 2024 alone, Tata Motors is preparing to give the Punch a new facelift upgrade. The 2025 Punch facelift is expected to feature a lot of changes at the front and rear, including new headlights with LED DRLs, a new grille, and revised bumpers.

Along with these, the new Punch will get newly designed alloy wheels. Similarly, the car will get a completely new cabin with a large-scale infotainment system. Otherwise, there will be no change in the engine configuration of the new Punch car. Currently, the Punch car is sold with a single engine option, which is a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV: Mahindra has been making great progress in car sales in India in recent times. Moreover, Mahindra's focus has started to shift towards electric cars. Due to this, Mahindra is preparing to introduce an electric version of the already on-sale XUV 3XO car.

Since the electric car XUV400 is already being sold by Mahindra, we thought that the XUV 3XO EV electric car would not be launched. However, if we look at all the news that is coming out, there is a possibility of the introduction of the XUV 3XO EV electric car. That too is said to be launched within the first 6 months of the next 2026.

The new XUV 3XO EV is going to be launched as a smaller and cheaper version of the already on-sale XUV400 electric car. In fact, it is said to be the cheapest electric car that Mahindra will sell for the next few years. The new XUV3XO electric car may be offered with two battery options - 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh.

The highlight of SUVs is that they provide a lot of space inside. Since many people are competing and buying SUVs for this grace, we believe that the next compact SUVs that we have seen in this collection will find their market.
