Splendor Will Now Run Without Petrol, With a 165km Range, a 4000W Motor, Fast Charging & Smart Technology
Hero MotoCorp has launched a new electric version of its most popular bike, the Splendor – the Hero Splendor Xtec Electric. This bike will now run entirely on electric power, eliminating the hassle of petrol. The company claims that this electric Splendor will be one of India's most reliable and affordable EV bikes.
Classic Design, But Now More Modern
The new Splendor Xtec Electric retains the same design as the classic Splendor to maintain its iconic look. However, it now features several futuristic upgrades – including a full-digital Bluetooth display, LED headlamps, call and message alerts, and smart features like turn-by-turn navigation – making it as advanced as a smartphone.
Powerful 4000W Motor and 165KM Range
This electric bike features a 4000W high-torque motor that delivers excellent pickup and a smooth ride. The company claims that the bike offers a powerful range of up to 165 kilometers on a single charge.
The removable lithium-ion battery can be charged from a household socket, meaning there's no need for a dedicated charging station.
Fast Charging and Smart Technology
The Splendor Xtec Electric takes approximately 4 to 5 hours to fully charge. However, if you're in a hurry, its fast charging technology can charge the battery up to 40% in just 1 hour.
The bike also features a smart battery management system (BMS) that protects against overcharging and overheating.
Significant Changes in Looks and Design
Hero has made this new electric Splendor even more premium. It features a new dual-tone color finish, sporty body graphics, and LED taillamps, making it even more attractive.
Additionally, the bike is lightweight and well-balanced, making it easy to ride—whether in traffic or on long journeys.
Top-notch safety features
Hero has also focused on safety in the Splendor Xtec Electric. It features features like the Combined Braking System (CBS) and regenerative braking. These not only make braking smoother but also slightly increase battery charge.
Price and Launch
The company has not yet officially revealed the price, but according to auto experts, the Hero Splendor Xtec Electric could be priced around ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hero is preparing to launch it in early 2025, making it a major disruptor in the budget electric segment.
