For this, the proposal has been approved in the cabinet meeting today. Once the proposal is approved, orders for the same will be issued soon. Along with the issue of the order, the pensioners of the state will also be provided the benefit of 42% dearness allowance like the government employees.

DR will be increased at the rate of 4%

Before the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, important announcements have been made by the Shivraj government for the employees of various sectors. Dearness allowance and dearness relief have been increased from Panchayat Secretary to Panchayat member and government employees. Earlier on August 7, the dearness relief of the retired employees of the state was increased by 5%. Now once again their DR will be increased at the rate of 4%.

Proposal to increase dearness relief approved

Earlier, the Chhattisgarh government had sent a proposal to the Madhya Pradesh government. After considering the proposal of Chhattisgarh, the proposal to provide 4% additional dearness relief to the retired employees has been approved in the cabinet meeting today. In such a situation, dearness relief at the rate of 42% would be available to the retired employees at par with the employees.

Shivraj government had sought consent

An in-principle decision had already been taken by the Shivraj government to give dearness relief to the pensioners at par with the employees. However, consent was sought from the Chhattisgarh government for this in the month of January itself. Even after three reminders, no response was received from the Government of Chhattisgarh, at present dearness relief at the rate of 38% was being provided to the pensioners. Recently the Government of Chhattisgarh has also made an important announcement for its employees. The Chhattisgarh government has decided to increase the dearness relief from 38 to 42 percent from July 1 and has sought consent from the Madhya Pradesh government to implement it.

Increase in pension from 800 to 6000

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had also written a letter to CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in this matter. After which a proposal for this was sent to the cabinet. The proposal is being considered as soon as it is approved. That orders for this will be issued soon by the Madhya Pradesh government. After the additional 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance, a big increase in the pension of about 500,000 pensioners of the state will also be recorded. An increase of 800 to ₹ 5000 can be seen in his pension.

Additional burden of 410 crores on the exchequer of the government

With this decision of the Madhya Pradesh government, the pensioners getting the seventh pay scale will get the benefit of pension at the rate of 42 percent while the dearness relief of the retired employees getting the sixth pay scale will be increased by 9 percent. With this, an increase of 221 percent in their dearness relief will be recorded. Due to increase in dearness relief, there will be an additional burden of 410 crores on the exchequer of the government. It is to be implemented from 1 July 2023.

4% DR increase in pension of pensioners soon

The proposal of Chhattisgarh can be agreed upon with the setting of auspicious time for the proposal by the Madhya Pradesh government. With the consent, Chhattisgarh will also record 4% DR increase in the pension of pensioners. With this, their pension may increase from 38% to 42%. Retired employees of Chhattisgarh can be given this benefit from July 1, 2023.
