Let us tell you that an office memorandum has been issued by the Union Ministry of Personnel (DPPW) in this regard. It is clearly stated in this memorandum. That if an employee wants old pension then he has to choose the employee. The government has also made this clear. That the central employees should get the option to transfer to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). But there is one special thing in this too. That employees who applied for the jobs advertised before December 22, 2003, the day the National Pension System (NPS) came into force. Now the government has fixed the deadline for the application. According to which now the last date of application has been kept as 31 August 2023.

Employees were demanding for a long time

Let us tell you, from January 2004, the new pension scheme was started for government employees by abolishing the old pension in the country, in which 10% is deducted from the salary of the employee under NPS. GPF facility has been given in the old pension. The one who is not in the new pension. The hearing of the employees who have been demanding regarding the old practice for a long time has been done in the states. Now the Union Ministry of Personnel has given another chance to the central employees. So that they do not get out of this scheme.

Preparation started in Uttar Pradesh

On the instructions of the Center, the Personnel Department of Uttar Pradesh has given the pensioners who come under the ambit of pension, the option to choose the option till 31 August 2023. In a letter issued by the Ministry of Personnel, it was told that the candidates who were recruited after January 2004 under the advertisement released for government recruitment till December 22, 2003. All those people have been considered for inclusion in the old Pesham scheme. After this the option has been given. If anyone wants to enroll himself under old pension. So he has to select its option.

If you do not choose the option, you will be left empty handed.

Employees who do not select the option till August 31 will get the benefit under NPS only. And if an employee chooses the option of old pension. So by 31 October 2023 his NPS account will be closed and old pension will be restored.
