Bullet Train Updates: For the first time in the country, the Bullet Train will run at its full speed of 320 km per hour in the undersea rail tunnel. To speed up the completion of the tunnel project under the delayed Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor, excavation work will be started from four places simultaneously. The world's largest TBM will be deployed for tunnel excavation.

The tunnel being built under the sea level is the most complex part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Corridor Project (Bullet Train Project). The Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area of Mumbai already has a lot of tall multi-storey buildings. Also the depth of the tunnel is 56 meters. And its geographical location is quite complex. According to experts, the tunnel will have three floors and the bullet train will be operated from the lowest floor.

Railway Minister inaugurated

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav inaugurated the excavation of the said tunnel by blasting it in Vikhroli on Friday. On this occasion, Vaishnav said that with a new idea, the excavation of the tunnel has been started from four places simultaneously. With this, the construction process of the tunnel will be possible at a faster pace. He told that the tunnel will be built 10 storeys below the sea and the BKC Bullet Train station will be 30 storeys. After the completion of its construction work, the grandeur of the station will be worth seeing.

10 Times faster growth in many cities

The Bullet Train project is not just a means of urban transportation. Rather, Signal Economic Corridor is going to be built between Mumbai-Ahmedabad in India. This is evident from studies of other developed countries including Japan. That the Bullet Train project leads to faster development. Industrial development, commercial development and real estate will develop 10 times faster in the stations of Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilasore, Vapi, Bysar, Thane and Mumbai region of the 508 km long high speed corridor. This development will continue for the next 30 to 40 years.

Will start running in the next 2 years

The Railway Minister said that the Bullet Train will start running on the Surat-Balimora section (50 km) of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Corridor by August 2026. Elevated line has been laid on 284 km corridor of Gujarat. Whereas 100% land of the entire corridor has been acquired. The Railway Minister claimed that the work on Maharashtra's part is being done at a fast pace.
