Chandigarh Transport Department has decided to start direct bus service from City Beautiful to Ayodhya. While giving the information, it was told that considering the sacred sentiments of the people during the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, Chandigarh Transport Undertaking will start its long route service for Ayodhya like other religious places. Giving information, it was told that this bus service will be started from Sector 17 bus stand of Chandigarh to Ayodhya Dham before Basant Panchami. The bus will run daily from ISBT 17 at 1:30 pm and reach Ayodhya at 8:30 am the next day.

The journey will last for 19 hours

Similarly, the bus will leave from Ayodhya at 4:30 pm and will reach Sector 17 bus stand of Chandigarh at 11:05 am the next day. Official notice has been issued in this regard. While giving information, it was told that passengers will have to pay fare of Rs 1706 for this journey of 947 km. The one-way journey of the bus will take 19 hours. Even before this, bus services are being run by the department to many places in Punjab/Haryana/Himachal/Rajasthan/Uttar Pradesh/Uttarakhand.
