This Sunday, the effect of cold wave was seen in most of the cities of Uttar Pradesh. Due to strong icy winds coming from the mountains, the minimum temperature in Ayodhya fell to 2.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature of the day in Etawah was 21 degrees Celsius, which was considered the coldest in the state.

Temperatures also dropped in Lucknow, fog alert

The effect of cold is deepening in the capital Lucknow as well. The minimum temperature here was recorded at 5.5 degrees and the maximum temperature at 25.2 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for fog in many adjoining districts including Lucknow.

There will be no relief even in January

According to the Meteorological Department, this time winter has started early and there is less chance of getting relief from cold in January as well. The northwesterly winds coming from the northwest are increasing the melting in the plains of UP.

However, the speed of westerly winds has decreased slightly, due to which a slight increase in temperature and some relief is expected. Due to this decrease, the possibility of fog has increased.

Possibility of fog on Monday
According to the Weather Center at Amausi, moderate to dense fog can be seen on Monday, although it will clear shortly after sunrise. The day temperature is likely to be 25 degrees and the night temperature is expected to be seven degrees Celsius.

According to weather expert Dr. SN Sunil Pandey, the data being received shows that the cold wave has started earlier and it can continue till January 16.

Details of minimum temperature status in Niyamatpur, Fursatganj (Amethi), Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Sultanpur, Etawah, Shahjahanpur, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Gorakhpur and Lucknow of UP. Jhansi stood at 10th position with minimum temperature of 5.7 degrees.
