Expressway News: World's Most Unique Expressway To Be Built in india
Yuva Patrkaar, New Delhi : India is continuously building new highways with state-of-the-art facilities. These include major road projects like the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. In this part, India is building the longest wildlife corridor in Asia. It is the main attraction of the corridor on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. That wildlife will continue to walk below while vehicles will pass through the elevated expressway. It will be a thrilling experience for the passengers to enjoy the jungle safari while sitting in the vehicles.
Singer Pillar will be Asia's largest wildlife corridor on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. The six-lane road will be over 12 km long and will allow animals to move freely in the corridor adjacent to the Rajaji National Park. The forest corridor will be on single pillars of six lanes. One-pillar system is being implemented to reduce the use of concrete in forests. 571 pillars will be built in the corridor, out of which 450 have been completed. The distance between the two pillars is 21 metres.

Shivalik forest area will be in Uttar Pradesh and Dehradun forest area will be in Uttarakhand. The NHAI corridor is being built on the advice of the Wildlife Institute of India. Two 200 meter long elephant underpasses are also being constructed on this corridor. Meanwhile, six underpasses are being built for the animals.

The distance of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will be 210 km, most of which will be in Uttar Pradesh. This twelve line highway will be made from Delhi. However, going ahead on this route, the expressway will be of six lines. The expressway will connect many important cities of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, due to which the journey from Delhi to Dehradun will now take just 2.5 hours instead of 7 hours. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said that the first two sections of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will officially open for traffic by the end of December.
