Gurugram News: Residents of Gurugram and Faridabad are going to get good news soon. Let us tell you that Chief Executive Officer of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) A. Srinivas has met with officials of both the departments for comprehensive improvement of public transport.

Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) Chief Executive Officer Munish Sharma, FMDA Additional Chief Executive Officer Garima Mittal and other senior officials of both the authorities were present in the meeting. During this, consideration was given to improving the public transport system in Gurugram and Faridabad and the long-term changing dynamics of these rapidly developing cities.

Hundred electric buses given to both the cities
The Chief Executive Officer of GMDA informed that the expansion of bus fleet in these metropolitan cities, development of adequate infrastructure like bus depots and terminals to facilitate Nidhi bus services, integration with other public transport services like Metro, adoption of smart ticketing solutions etc. Focus is being placed on main topics. At present, GMCBL operates 150 buses in Gurugram and 50 buses in Faridabad. Under PM E-Bus Seva Yojana, 100 electric buses are being provided to both the cities. There is hope. That it will join the fleet by October this year.

Considering the increasing population, there will definitely be so many buses.
Provision for converting bus depots into e-friendly depots for charging of electric buses is also to be added in the plan. Work is underway to convert the existing depot of GMCBL in Sector 10 into an electric bus charging station. Mobility Division officials said that to provide adequate bus service to the growing population, 1025 buses will be required in Gurugram and 595 in Faridabad by 2031. GMDA Chief Executive Officer A. Srinivas said that all preparations have to be made to ensure that passengers do not face any problem in future.
