Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had started this scheme to help the poor people. Any family in which more than three members live. He can apply for this scheme. On behalf of CM Manohar Lal Khattar, the responsibility of keeping complete monitoring on this scheme has been handed over to Principal Secretary V Umashankar. He has also given instructions to the head of the transport department to prepare the draft of this scheme. Whichever poor family wants to take advantage of this scheme. Smart cards will be provided to all of them.
These people are getting the benefits of the scheme
Through this scheme, one member of a family will be able to travel free up to thousand km in a year. Not only this, in Haryana, citizens above 60 years of age are also being given the benefit of 50% discount in fare by the Transport Department. Children below 5 years of age have to pay half the fare in Haryana Roadways buses. After joining this scheme, children below 5 years of age will get a chance to travel for free up to thousand km, that is, they will not have to pay any fare.
