Chandigarh:- Even today most of the villagers in Haryana are not paying the water bills. In such a situation, now the work of paying drinking water bills can be entrusted to the women of self-help groups. Public Health and Engineering Department has also started working on this. Giving detailed information about this, it was told that women running self-help groups will be given 10% of the amount on depositing the electricity bill.
Duty imposed on women of self-help groups
Let us tell you that recently a meeting was held between Water and Sanitation Assistance Organization and District Advisors of Haryana, in which these guidelines were issued by the higher officials. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has also made an announcement regarding this. Now an official letter can also be issued regarding this in the coming few days. Under this scheme, the women associated with the scheme will be given the name of Jal Sakhi. This work has been assigned to women self-help groups of 500 houses. Whatever bills are paid by women, women will get 10% of that bill.

Water bills are being sent to people through messages
After this decision, the water bills of the Public Health Department that have been stuck for years will also be completed. Employment will also be available to self-help groups. In the entire state, water bills are being sent online to rural consumers through mobile messages. There was a lot of uproar during that time too, when water bills were sent over the phone even though there was no drinking water connection in the houses.
