Holidays have also been extended in schools of Punjab. Orders have been given to keep schools up to class five in Punjab closed till January 20. Classes from 10 am to 3 pm and from 6 to 12 noon will also be available. On Sunday, the Education Department issued an order in this regard. According to which all the primary schools (government, recognized and private) in the state will remain closed till January 20.

Schools will remain closed in Chandigarh till January 21. In view of the increasing cold in Chandigarh, schools from classes 1 to 8 have been given holiday. Schools will be able to provide online courses till then. Chandigarh's Education Department said that classes for students studying in classes 9 to 12 remain open from 9.30 am to 4 pm.
