The Govt is now planning to do toll collection using GPS technology. The Govt said that there is no longer any need to wait in long queues at toll plazas. Along with this, you will also get relief from jam. After the introduction of the new GPS toll system, toll plazas will not be visible on the highway. The Govt is continuously trying to remove toll plazas from many highways across the country.

Next year the Govt is planning to introduce a latest system to collect toll tax. According to the information received, the Central Govt is now ready to install GPS based toll collection system on highways and expressways. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that GPS based toll collection system will be implemented on roads and expressways by March next year.

Pilot Project has been completed

Nitin Gadkari said that the pilot project of satellite-based toll collection system on the corridor of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been completed. He informed that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has also started two experimental projects of Automatic Number Plate Recognition System so that automatic toll collection can be enabled without stopping the vehicles.
