IMD Weather Report: A low level cyclonic circulation lies over Marathwada, adjoining Vidarbha and Telangana. Another cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. The cyclonic circulation is 3.1 km above mean sea level over South Assam and adjoining areas.

A western disturbance is likely to approach the western Himalayas on January 25. And on January 27, another western disturbance will hit the western Himalayas.

Weather conditions across the country in the last 24 hours

Light to moderate rain occurred in parts of Orissa, South Chhattisgarh and Kerala. Light rain occurred in Sikkim and Lakshadweep. Bihar had conditions ranging from cold day to severe cold day. Cold day occurred at one or two places in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Very dense fog occurred over parts of East Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Punjab, Jammu Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan and at one or two places in Bihar. Dense fog prevailed in Tripura, Haryana and West Madhya Pradesh.

Weather changes in the next 24 hours

Some moderate spells with light rain and snowfall are likely over the Western Himalayas between January 25 and January 28. Light to moderate rain may occur at one or two places over West Bengal, south Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and north coast of Vidarbha, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Nicobar Islands and Andaman Islands may receive light to moderate rain. Rain may increase from January 26. And between January 26 and 28, moderate to heavy rain may occur.

Very dense fog conditions will continue over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Fog may occur over parts of North Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. On January 25, there may be cold day to severe cold day conditions in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. There will be less cold days in these states between January 26 and January 28.
