IMD Weather Update Today 24 March 2024: India Meteorological Department in its daily report released today has said that due to the cyclonic circulation over North-East Assam and its adjoining areas, there will be light to heavy rain in many North-Eastern states in the coming days. Many northern states will also receive rain due to western disturbance which is likely to reach the western Himalayan region on the night of March 26. On the other hand, there is a possibility of increase in temperature in other parts of the country including Eastern India.

There will be rain and snowfall in the northeastern states

IMD said that the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may receive light to moderate rainfall from March 24 to March 29. During this period, there is also a possibility of lightning along with thunder. The IMD has also predicted isolated heavy rainfall or snowfall, especially over Arunachal Pradesh, on March 25 and 26. Apart from this, there may be heavy rainfall in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on March 25. Whereas on March 25 and 26, Assam and Meghalaya may receive heavy rainfall.

Rain in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim also

Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on March 26. Gangetic West Bengal is likely to experience similar conditions on March 25 and 26. Whereas on March 25, such weather can also be seen in Bihar and Jharkhand. IMD has also expressed the possibility of rain in Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other states.

The weather of Himalayan region states will be like this

According to IMD, there may be light rain or snowfall at isolated places in the Western Himalayan region today. Today, on March 24, light rain may be seen in Punjab, Haryana. Apart from this, there is a possibility of storm and lightning in Rajasthan.

The IMD said a new Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region from the night of March 26. Under its influence, there is a possibility of isolated light rain or snowfall along with isolated thunderstorms and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh up to Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from March 26 to 29. Apart from this, there is a possibility of light rain in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan from March 26 to March 28.

Maximum temperature forecast

IMD said areas of eastern India may see a rise of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures in the next five days. Similarly, a gradual increase in maximum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius is expected in Central India in the next 2,3 days. Apart from this, a gradual increase of maximum temperature by 2 to 3 degree Celsius is expected in the next 4,5 days in both Northwest India and East India.
