Memu Train Route: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given a new assurance to the passengers. On Saturday he opened an 18-km stretch of the Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore passenger railway line. He also flagged off the recently launched MEMU train. Railway official said that MEMU train will run three times a day between Gopinathpur Nilgiri and Balasore.

After flagging off the train at Gopinathpur Nilgiri Railway Station, Vaishnav praised the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that in the previous government, very little amount was given to Odisha for the development of railway infrastructure, but now the state gets Rs 10,000 crore every year.

A new railway flyover will be built

Ashwini Vaishnav said that Prime Minister Modi is paying special attention to the development of railway infrastructure in Odisha. The minister said, "Where earlier the average expansion of railway track was only 25 to 30 km in a year, now in the national network it has increased to more than 450 km in a year.

Discussing the railway projects in Odisha, Vaishnav said that the survey work on the Jaleshwar-Chandaneshwar railway route has been completed and it will soon be extended to Digha in West Bengal. He said that a new project has also been completed at Khatapada in Balasore district. Railway flyover will be built.

Know about MEMU train

An official of South-East Railway said that from January 14, three pairs of MEMU passenger special trains will run between Gopinathpur, Nilgiri and Balasore. It is known that more than 19 thousand trains run in 18 railway zones of the country. These trains are divided into different categories. These include Emu, Demu and Memu trains. The name of Main Electric Multiple Unit is MEMU.

This train is equipped with latest technology and latest features. These trains are generally used to cover distances of more than 200 km. It has four coaches and one power car. MEMU train most connects one city to another. Their speed is higher than passenger trains.
