Haryana News: 1000 km free scheme for the poor in Haryana Roadways buses has now been implemented. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal launched this scheme.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, the process of making NCMC card has started at CSC centres. Applicants can apply by paying Rs 50. And can get your free travel pass.

Under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, the state government is continuously running new schemes for the welfare of Antyodaya families of the state in accordance with the Antyodaya philosophy.

In this series, Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan scheme (HAPPI) was launched to provide free travel facility of 1000 km in Haryana Roadways buses to Antyodaya families in a period of one year.

CM had announced in the budget session

Let us tell you that the Chief Minister, in his capacity as Finance Minister, had announced in the budget speech given in the Haryana Assembly on February 23, 2024, that Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan will be set up to provide poor families the benefit of free travel up to 1000 km every year in Haryana Roadways buses. What is HAPPY scheme?

Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan scheme (HAPPY) is fortunate to announce Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan scheme (HAPPY) to provide poor families the benefit of free travel up to 1000 km every year in Haryana Roadways buses.

The benefit of free travel under this scheme will be available to 22.89 lakh families, which includes about 84 lakh people with annual income up to Rs 1 lakh. The beneficiaries will be issued a smart card linked to the e-ticketing system to travel free in Haryana Roadways buses. An amount of approximately Rs 600 crore is likely to be spent on the implementation of this scheme.

How will you get benefit?

Happy Scheme is a unique scheme launched by any state in the country. Where very poor people have been given the benefit of free travel by using modern technology.

This has been possible due to the e-ticketing system in Haryana Roadways buses. Which is based on National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) in open loop. Beneficiaries will be given a personalized Happy Card, which is a special edition of the NCMC card. So that they can travel for free.

The initial cost of implementation of HAPPY scheme is approximately Rs 600 crore. Which also includes the cost of the first year. Apart from this, under the scheme, an annual subsidy of about Rs 500 crore will be given to the beneficiaries every year.

Beneficiaries will have to pay only a one-time cost of Rs 50 to purchase this card and the remaining card cost of approximately Rs 109 will be borne by the government. The annual maintenance fee of Rs 79 for the Happy Card will also be borne by the government.

How to apply

Identification of beneficiaries for the scheme is possible through Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP). Which is a much appreciated initiative of Haryana. The application process for Happy Card is transparent, simple and online.

The genuineness of the beneficiaries is verified from the PPP database. And this is ensured. That personalized Happy Cards should be issued only to genuine beneficiaries. Upon applying, beneficiaries will be informed about the date and place of collection of their card through an SMS, thereby ensuring ease of living for the beneficiaries.
