New Penal Law: Agreement Between Govt & Transport Organization, Strike Called off
Discussion On New Penal Law: There is opposition to the new law for hit-and-run cases under the Motor Vehicles Act. Drivers of big vehicles are on strike across the country. And they are demanding non-implementation of the laws by blocking roads. Regarding this, a meeting of Transport Organization was held in the Home Ministry with Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla. After getting assurance here, the organization has agreed to call off the strike.
There has been a compromise between the government and transporters regarding the new law for hit and run cases. The talks between the representatives of All India Motor Transport Congress and the government have been successful. Transport Congress has said. That the truck drivers should withdraw their strike and return to work. The transport organization has asked drivers across the country to call off the strike. The organization has been assured by the government that at present the law will not be implemented and whenever it is implemented, discussions will be held with the organization. After this, All India Motor Transport Congress has appealed to the drivers to end the strike.
