Toll Plaza Big Update: On Thursday, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari made an important announcement regarding toll plaza. All toll plazas will be eliminated in the country in the next one year, Nitin Gadkari said in Lok Sabha. This, however, is not its meaning. That you will not have to pay toll. Now GPS system will be installed in the vehicles, through which toll fees will be paid.
On Thursday, Nitin Gadkari said that previous governments imposed tolls in urban areas, which was wrong and unjust. Their removal will take place within a year.

He said that now GPS system will be installed in the vehicles, through which toll fee can be paid, hence there will be no need of toll within the city.
In response to another question, he said that projects are not awarded without acquiring 90% of the land. After land is acquired, a detailed project report (DPR) is prepared.
Gadkari, in reply to Deepak Baij's last question, said that a green highway has been approved between Raipur and Visakhapatnam. Construction work has started. The work is likely to be completed in about a decade. Many states will benefit from this.
