On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the electric double rail line connecting the country's eastern and western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). The rail link will connect to New Khurja Junction.

These railway stations will be 173 km long

This railway link connects two DFCs of the country. And is 173 km long. It has cost Rs 10,141 crore. It will start from New Boraki in Noida and pass through six stations: New Dadri, New Faridabad, New Prithla, New Tawadu and New Dharuhera.

Shipping costs and time will be reduced

Both the DFCs will be connected by this rail link, which will reduce the time taken in movement of goods trains. And the cost of freight transportation will be less. Not only this, it will reduce the time taken between Khurja and Rewari by 20 hours. With the establishment of DFC, goods trains in the country will not have to pass through the busy NCR areas of Ghaziabad and Delhi.

A km long two-line rail tunnel has also been built in this part. This is the first such tunnel in the world. Double decker containers can also easily pass through this tunnel. This rail link connects DFC to Indian Railways at Dadri through a 4.54 km long rail flyover (RFO).

Atal Setu deal

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had promised Atal Setu to the country's financial capital Mumbai in early January. This has reduced the time taken to cover the distance from Navi Mumbai to Mumbai from two hours to just 20 minutes. Also, it has changed the journey in Mumbai from north-south to east-west. It is connected to the 'Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Corridor' being built in the country. Which will boost economic activities in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
