The Meteorological Department has shared the latest information on the weather of Punjab from today to May 21. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heatwave in many places for five days till May 21.
According to Surendra Pal, Director of the Meteorological Center of Chandigarh, the weather will remain dry for the next few days. The maximum temperature in the state is expected to gradually increase by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius by next week. There is a possibility of heatwave in some areas of the state from May 16 to May 20. The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for Fazilka, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda, Mansa, Barnala and Sangrur districts. At the same time, if we talk about the temperature in Punjab for the last 24 hours, then according to the Meteorological Center Chandigarh, the temperature has increased by 0.2 degrees compared to the previous day, which remained close to normal.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature may reach 42 to 43 degrees Celsius in the coming days. People may face severe discomfort due to strong sunlight and hot winds. The Meteorological Department has advised people to avoid stepping out of their homes unnecessarily from 12 noon to 4 pm.
