Rapid Metro: Haryana Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) is accelerating several metro projects with the aim of strengthening connectivity and public transport options across the state.

Chief Secretary Shri Sanjeev Kaushal, who is HMRTC. Is also the President of. informed during the board meeting that the state government has decided to establish a Gray Line Metro link connecting New Delhi with AIIMS and National Cancer Institute, Badhsa located in Jhajjar district. The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has given the green signal for a new ridership assessment to be conducted by leading consultancy firm M/s RITES to assess the potential route.

He informed that to meet the increasing transportation needs in district Palwal, a techno-feasibility study is being conducted for extension of the existing metro line from Ballabhgarh to Palwal for a distance of about 25 km. Additionally, a preliminary ridership assessment study is also being conducted for the metro line connecting Bahadurgarh and Asodha. RITES will submit its report by 15th April.

The Chief Secretary said that M/s RITES, initially appointed to prepare the detailed project report for Sector-56, Gurugram to Panchgaon, has expanded the project to include the route from Sector-56 to Vatika Chowk. With 28 elevated stations, the 36 km long project aims to ensure wide coverage and convenient accessibility for passengers. Additionally, efforts are also being made to explore the feasibility of constructing a double-decker viaduct for the potential metro line connecting Faridabad and Gurugram.

Sanjeev Kaushal told that Chandigarh Tricity M.R.T.S. A significant modification has been made to the project. With an aim to improve the convenience and accessibility of passengers using both metro and train services, a direct link has now been provided connecting the railway station and the main corridor. The length of the project network has now been extended to 4 km. Which will connect ISBT, Zirakpur to Sector 20, Panchkula. Additionally, the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has also recommended the adoption of a 2-coach metro system, offering a potentially cost-effective and efficient solution.

The Chief Secretary said that the Gurugram Metro Rail project has got a big boost with the Central Government approving the construction of the metro line connecting Millennium City Center and Cyber City.

He informed that Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has been incorporated for the implementation of the project. Tenders have been issued for important aspects like geotechnical investigation and detailed design consultation. Ms. D. Thara, Additional Secretary, Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been appointed as GMRL. Has been appointed Chairman. A study is also being conducted to assess the feasibility of including 2.9-metre coaches in Gurugram's existing rapid metro system. Due to which the passenger capacity will increase and the efficiency of the system will also increase.

He told that Sarai Kale Khan-Panipat R.R.T.S. The project is an important achievement towards High Speed Regional Rail. Both Haryana and Delhi governments have released funds to take the project forward.

The Chief Secretary said that after the completion of all these projects, connectivity in the state will definitely increase, traffic congestion will reduce and people will get fast and convenient travel options.
