Rapid Rail: The Uttar Pradesh Govt is planning to connect the Noida International Airport being built in Jewar with the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS). With this, major cities of Uttar Pradesh like Meerut, Modinagar, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida etc. will be connected to Jewar Airport. This corridor will also connect Delhi Airport, IGI Airport and Jewar Airport at a faster speed. Through this corridor, passengers will be able to reach Jewar Airport in 50 minutes from Ghaziabad, from Meerut in 85 minutes and from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in 80 minutes, according to the plan.

Recently, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a meeting with officials of National Capital Region Transport Corporation, Northern Railway, North Central Railway, NHAI and state Govt, gave necessary guidelines regarding better connectivity of the airport. During this, he demanded to connect Jewar Airport with IGI.

Rs 12 thousand crores are expected to be spent

The Central Govt, Uttar Pradesh Govt and banks will also fund the proposed project. The central Govt will give only Rs 1804 crore for RRTS, while the Uttar Pradesh Govt will give Rs 2581 crore. Multilateral and bilateral banks will also give Rs 5413 crore. Approximately Rs 10,000 crore will be spent on RRTS alone. More than Rs 12 thousand crore will be spent on both Metro and RRTS. In this, Govt of India will give Rs 2225 crore, Govt of Uttar Pradesh will give Rs 3132 crore and banks will give Rs 6675 crore.

Will be accessible in many cities of NCR

The project proposes integration of the corridor with the existing and proposed transit networks, IGI and major cities and dense development areas of Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister has approved the proposed route between Jewar Airport and Ghaziabad. The proposed alignment will be 72.2 km long and will have 25 stations. The proposed corridor will also include the DMIC Blue Line and Aqua Line in Noida. 14 metro stations can be added to run RRTS and Metro on the same infrastructure.

Yogi Govt will give free land

RRTS will have full-fledged passenger amenities. This chaircar EMU will be fully air-conditioned, while its body is made of aluminum and stainless steel for high speed. It will be based on electric traction system. This communication system will be based on LTE. This project will be completed with the cooperation of the Govt of India, in which the Govt of Uttar Pradesh will provide free Govt land.

DPR will be made in 3 months

DPR NCRTC will build rail corridor from Ghaziabad to Noida International Airport Jewar. This DPR will be ready in three months. The construction of this corridor should be done in 2 phases. A corridor will be built from Ghaziabad to the airport to connect the rapid rail service to Noida Airport. NRC made its feasibility report. Rapid rail has been approved from Ghaziabad RRTS station to the airport via Greater Noida West and Pari Chowk.
