An official notification on Thursday said all govt and private schools will be closed due to cold wave conditions in the state. On Wednesday night, the lowest temperature was 7 to 11 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature in Garhwa was 6.6 degrees Celsius, the highest in Daltonganj was 7.9 degrees Celsius.

Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, had the lowest of 10.4 degrees Celsius. The temperature was 8.5 degrees Celsius in Ramgarh, 8.5 degrees Celsius in Bokaro, 8.6 degrees Celsius in Chaibasa and 10.7 degrees Celsius in Jamshedpur.
