There will be cold wave in these states

Speaking to ANI, IMDI Director General Dr Mrityunjay Mahapatra said, “During January 5 to 11, we are expecting a drop in night temperatures. “This may cause cold wave conditions in some parts of central India.” Day temperature will also be below normal, hence it will be cold in Madhya Pradesh, northern parts of Maharashtra, southern parts of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana and Rajasthan. Cold wave is expected in these areas from 5th to 11th.

It may rain in these states

IMD said light to moderate rain is expected over southern India including South Tamil Nadu, South Kerala and Lakshadweep till January 4. This rain will be from the fresh easterly wave and low pressure area over the west equatorial Indian Ocean and the adjoining south-east Arabian Sea. Apart from this, light rain may occur over northern UP, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on Tuesday and Wednesday.
