UP Coldest: Winter Going To Attack UP
Winter In UP: Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh of Zonal Meteorological Center said that the lowest temperature of this season was recorded in Kanpur and Agra on Thursday night. If this trend continues further then cold wave outbreak will start in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, there is little chance of relief from the severe cold in the state for the next three days.
Kanpur was the coldest in the entire state on Thursday night, where the night temperature was recorded at three degrees Celsius. The night temperature in Agra was 3.9 degrees Celsius. According to meteorologists, if the night temperature remains below four degrees. Then there are chances of cold wave. According to the information received from the Zonal Meteorological Center, earlier last year in the year 2023, on January 7 and January 17, the night temperature of Kanpur city had recorded three degrees Celsius. Even in the year 2022, on January 18, the night temperature there was recorded at 2.6 degrees Celsius.
During the last 24 hours, very dense fog was observed at some places in the state. There was a cold day at some places in the eastern region, there was no sunshine. Similar weather prevailed at some places in Western UP also. The day temperature in Kanpur, Lucknow and Moradabad divisions remained much lower than normal. It was less than normal in Ayodhya, Bareilly, Meerut divisions, and less than normal in Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur and Agra divisions.
Melting increased in the plains due to westerly winds
According to weather scientists, the westerly wind coming through the HIGH HIMALYAN REGIONS is strong. Due to which there is melting in the plains. There is no hope of relief from this for the next three days. After the western disturbance passed through the region, the westerly speed increased. Due to this, melting is being felt even during the day. The westerly wind and the light layer of fog formed at the height are not allowing the warmth of the sun to reach the earth completely.
Fog and fog have engulfed the city. Last Thursday-Friday night, the lowest temperature was recorded for the second time in the season. The minimum temperature was 6.0 degrees which was 1.1 degrees below normal. Earlier on Wednesday, a minimum temperature of 6.5 degrees was recorded. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for dense fog in the morning and evening for the next three days.
According to the weather center located at Amausi, melting will continue. There may be a drop in night temperature. On Friday morning the fog was so dense that it was not visible even 10 meters away. There was so much melting that it was difficult to ride a two-wheeler without gloves. At 8 in the morning, due to extremely low visibility on major roads, drivers were seen driving with their lights on. The fog cleared from the sky a little from 11 o'clock in the day but the melting continued. In such a situation, the temperature did not go up much despite the sun shining. The maximum temperature recorded was 17.2 degrees Celsius. According to the weather center, there will be dense fog on Saturday morning, although it will clear up after some time.
