UP Employees: Yogi Govt Gave a Big Gift, There Will Be an increase in Salary of These Employees, They Will Get 5 Years of Arrears

Chief Secretary Environment Forest and Climate Change Manoj Singh has stated this in the compliance affidavit filed in Allahabad High Court. That this work will be completed in a week.
He said that the daily wage employees of the Forest Department are getting Rs 7000 from the Sixth Pay Commission. To all those who are doing regular work. Also, Additional Advocate General Ashok Mehta said that a plan will be made to give minimum pay scale to all the employees by the next hearing date. The court said that all the daily wage employees working in the forest department will have to work. Outsourced employees will not be retained and fired. The court said that a committee will be formed under the chairmanship of a nominated officer of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change or of the Secretary level, in which five or six officers will be from the government and the forest department. Chief Forest Conservator will also be present in the committee.
This committee will make a policy to give minimum pay scale to all the daily wage employees working in the Forest Department, which will be presented in the court by the Chief Secretary through a compliance affidavit. The court has given this order on the petition of Vijay Kumar Srivastava, a daily wage employee working in Gorakhpur Forest Department.

Petitioner's advocate Pankaj Srivastava said that the officers can reverse the situation after assurance. And expressed apprehension about following the order. In response, the Additional Advocate said that forget the earlier things. The government is going to make policy impartially. Payment and policy will be made within a week. There is no reason to doubt.
The court expressed hope that the authorities will plan to give minimum pay scale to daily wage workers working for more than 10-20 years. Also no one will be thrown out.

According to the information of the case, in the Puttilal case in 2002, the Supreme Court had ordered to make a policy to pay minimum wages to the daily wage employees of the Forest Department and implement it regularly. The government has since adopted a wavering attitude following several litigations. Additional Advocate General Ashok Mehta, through the Special Secretary, promised to give Rs 18,000 per month to all those getting a salary of Rs 7,000.

But the government immediately refused to accept this, banned the hiring of new employees and ordered outsourcing of services. On this, the court took a tough stand and issued a show cause notice asking them to follow the order or appear for framing of contempt charges. Later the Additional Chief Secretary filed an affidavit and promised to follow the orders of the court.
