UP Govt is Spending ₹350 Crore on Rapid Rail, These Areas Will Benefit From it
Rapid Rail Big Update: UP government will spend Rs 35 crore to ease travel between Ghaziabad and Meerut. Semi-fast rail corridor will be established between Ghaziabad and Meerut.
The release of this government stake will accelerate the upcoming work on the project. Especially in Ghaziabad and Meerut, the works presented in the form of this scheme will get new momentum. In this regard, the Yogi government has ordered to provide funds to the Managing Director of National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).

The Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) is a semi-railway corridor. It is currently under construction. This corridor connects Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. It is one of three high-speed rail corridors planned as part of the Rapid-X project. When completed, it will be the first high-speed rail project of its kind in Japan.

The first phase of this project is currently underway. The 82.15 km long project was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 8, 2019, and is expected to be operational by 2025. The implementation of the project is the responsibility of the CEO of the Urban Transport Organisation. Under his leadership, the high quality of the infrastructure developed under this project will be ensured.
Yogi government is also monitoring.
The Uttar Pradesh government will keep reviewing the progress of the work done under this project from time to time. The deadline to complete the works allotted by the state is March 31, 2024. And on completion of the work, NCRTC will submit the occupancy certificate to the Uttar Pradesh government by April 30, 2024.
