Vande Bharat Express: For your information, at present 35 Vande Bharat Express are running across the country. This train can run at a speed of 160 km/h. But it runs at about half the speed. Railways now wants to increase the speed. To run Vande Bharat at a speed of 110 to 130 km per hour, safety fencing will be installed at many places, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told the Lok Sabha. Not only this, to run it at a speed of more than 130 km/h, safety fencing will be provided on the entire track. If this train is run at a maximum speed of 160 km per hour, then the distance of about 1000 km from Delhi to Patna will be completed in about six and a quarter hours.

Vande Bharat Express cannot run at full speed due to problems with signaling, track infrastructure and fencing. Vaishnav said that safety is paramount in railways. He said that a comprehensive system has been made for monitoring, repair and maintenance of the tracks. This includes use of innovative track structures, regular monitoring of tracks, ultrasonic detection tests and mechanized track maintenance. He said that at speeds of 110 to 130 km per hour, fencing of the entire track is necessary. Whereas at speeds above this minimum fencing is standard.
