According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds will blow during the day today too, which will reduce the dense fog prevailing in Delhi from Friday night.

However, today there will be clouds along with fog, which is likely to provide some relief from the cold. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Delhi will have to face more fog for the next few days. Along with this, there is a possibility of severe winter in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, UP, Bihar, MP and Rajasthan.
On the other hand, rain and snowfall is expected in the hilly states of Uttarakhand, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir between December 30 and January 2.
The effect of snowfall in the hilly states is sure to be visible in the plains. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of severe winter in entire Central India including Delhi-NCR on January 2 and even after that. During this period, strong cold winds will blow.
