The storm is far from the coast. Therefore, this will not cause any loss to India. As it gets closer to land, it will weaken and turn into a major storm before reaching Bangladesh.

Since the storm is near the coast. Hence it will not bring heavy rain or strong winds over Odisha and West Bengal. However, parts of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal may experience moderate-gusty winds and occasional rain.

In the next 2 days, there may be rain and thunderstorm in places like Puri, Satpara, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Baleshwar, Jaleswar, Digha, Contai, Diamond Harbour, Nandigram, Kolkata and Basirhat.
