Weather Update Today: Amid the harsh winter, meteorologists are forecasting the possible impacts of two new western disturbances. The second western disturbance from January 31 may affect the western Himalayan region and adjacent plains of northwest India. Due to which there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some states of the country during the next 2 days. In its forecast, IMD has predicted snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad as well as some areas of Himachal Pradesh.

There is also a possibility of rain in some states. And IMD has told. That soon there can be relief from cold in the plains of the country. An increase in minimum temperature may be recorded. And minimum temperatures are likely to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius over many parts of northwest India in the next 3-5 days. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of cold wave in different parts of Punjab, Haryana and eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Talking about today's weather, according to Skymet Weather report, light to moderate rain and snowfall is possible in Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. Light rain and snowfall is possible in parts of Himachal Pradesh and upper reaches of Uttarakhand. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light to very light rain is possible at 1 or 2 places over Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Dense to very dense fog conditions are likely over many parts of Uttar Pradesh, isolated parts of Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Cold day to severe cold day conditions are likely to continue in some parts of Bihar and then cold day conditions are likely to continue for the next 2 days. Cold-day conditions may occur in some parts of Uttar Pradesh.
