Due to dense fog, more than 400 domestic, international flights and more than 100 trains were affected in Delhi. 68 flights had to be cancelled, while four flights were diverted to Jaipur and one to Ahmedabad. Besides, there is a possibility of rain at some places in Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and North-Eastern states.

According to IMD, night temperatures in Delhi will remain similarly cold for the next three days, and will hover around 4 degrees Celsius till Wednesday, January 17. After this, it is likely to remain at 5 to 6 degrees Celsius till Friday, January 19. IMD has issued a cold wave alert in the national capital for Tuesday and Wednesday. There is a possibility of more clouds than normal on Tuesday and Wednesday. Also, there will be dense to very dense fog in the morning.

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the upper reaches of the Western Himalayas. Light rain may occur in Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Light rain at 1 or 2 places is likely over Odisha, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Kerala. Cold day to severe cold day conditions may occur over parts of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and one or two places over northwest Rajasthan.
