2000 Rupee Note Update : A big update has come out on 2000 rupee note. The date for exchanging these notes has been extended to October 7. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has also issued a circular in this regard. This decision of the government will benefit those people who have not yet exchanged Rs 2000 notes. Let us tell you that earlier the last date for exchanging notes was 30th September at 4 pm. However, notes can be changed in ATMs only till 12 midnight on Saturday.
How will the notes be returned after October 7?
If for some reason someone is not able to exchange the notes till 7th October. So he can complete this task by going to the regional office of RBI. The notes cannot be exchanged in banks and their branches. This facility will be available in 19 RBI issue offices of the country till further orders. Citizens can exchange Rs 2000 notes through post at 19 RBI issue offices. After which the money will be returned to the citizens' accounts.

So many notes returned to the bank
According to recently released government data, till May 19, 2023, Rs 2000 notes worth Rs 3.56 lakh crore were circulating across the country. Till now the bank has received Rs 3.42 lakh. Only Rs 1.49 lakh will be available in the market till 29th September.
