8th Pay Commission: There is good news for central employees before the Lok Sabha elections. In the first week of March, there will be a 4% increase in dearness allowance for govt employees and dearness relief allowance for retired people.

At present DA/DR is available at the rate of 46%. The allowance will increase by 4% by next month. The rule is this. That as soon as the rate of dearness allowance crosses 50%, the govt has to think about the formation of the 8th Pay Commission.

The current rate of DA for employees is 46%. As soon as the 50% rate is reached, the demand for formation of the 8th Pay Commission will be placed before the Central govt. Modi govt can announce the formation of the 8th Pay Commission before the Lok Sabha elections.

After this, the rate of Dearness Allowance i.e. 'DA' had increased from 42% to 46%. Now from January 1, 2024, the dearness allowance of govt employees is likely to increase by 4 to 5%.
